Vintage Guitar Prices (How Much Is Your Guitar Worth?)
How Much Is My Gibson Guitar Worth ?
Whenever you are dealing with vintage Gibson guitars or any vintage guitar nobody can determine its true value, Guitar vintage price guides can only give you a ball park figure on how much its worth, but there are also many factors that determine the price of a vintage guitar.
The seller usually knows basically how much its worth, but its true value really depends on the buyer and how much he loves and values that particular guitar.
Who's the buyer ? (Collector ? Reseller ? Enthusiast ?)
The buyer sometimes can determine the price, it can play a major factor on how much money you can get for your guitar. For example, true collectors usually pay more than what its actually worth because they tend to keep their guitars for investments and they know their historic values.
Resellers on the other hand tend to care less about the guitar and more about price to make profits, they are bargain hunters.
Is it all original?
If the guitar is all original and in mint condition prices can be valued at more than 150% than what its worth in any vintage guitar price guide, and sometimes 200% if its a hard to find rare guitar with it's original case.
Has it been modified ? (Repainted ...etc)
If a guitar has been refurbished in anyway especially on the guitars body or neck prices can drop up to 50 to 75% of its true value, therefore before buying any vintage guitar make sure you make a vintage connoisseur take a look at it.
How many guitars were produced? (limited edition ? rare ?)
The number of guitars made during its time can also raise prices and determine its collectabilty, if the guitar is highly sought after ( high demand - low supply ) , obviously you can get more money for it.
Note : All guitar prices for the Gibson guitars on this web site are only estimated prices presuming that the guitar is in fairly good condition and all original, they are according to 4 different guitar price guides and rounded off to the nearest dollar.
You can use it as a vintage guitar price guide but do not rely on these prices to buy or sell vintage Gibson guitars, there are many factors that can determine a price for used, old or collectible guitars. I strongly recommend you make an expert or collector examine and value the guitar before buying or selling any vintage guitars regardless if its a Gibson, Gretsch or Fender....
I have a Gibson B25n that I purchased new when in high school in 1969. Ser# 561914. It's the natural finish. Mint condition, like brand new, I'm finally considering parting with it...any idea what it might be worth and/or best means to sell - I'm in Seattle.

I have a sunburst Gibson J-45ADJ with the serial number 905035. There is a 2 below the serial number. The tortoise shell pickguard has the white "Gibson" logo but also has an unusual design to the left of "Gibson" on the pickguard. The design is a small red/orange dot (approx 1/8" diameter) on the left followed by a series of seven white lines between the red dot and "Gibson". The lines start with a backwards 'C' shape encircling the dot. The lines graduate from left to right ending in two straight lines next to the G in Gibson. Please help. I believe the serial number puts it in the '67 timeframe. The guitar has some dings but plays great. I got it for a steal and plan on keeping it but this unique logo has everybody stumped. Appreciate your help!
ReplyDeleteWhat is the ballpark value of a 1971 Les Paul Standard with a tobacco sunburst finish in good condition. Its all original except for tuners.

I have a 1953 dark sunburst finish Gibson LG-1 (ser. no. Y 4491 16) in what I would say is good condition - straight neck, no cracks in the wood, a fair amount of checking in the laquer with a few dings and scratches here and there. What would you say this guitar is worth? If it were an LG-2 what would be the price differential?
ReplyDeleteThanks for your help.

Hello,
ReplyDeleteI am wondering if anyone here can help me identify the year of a guitar that a friend of mine inherited. She was told that it was a left-handed,1963 Gibson SG Special, with the serial #401263. The problem is, if I have deciphered the Gibson serial number lookup correctly, this number probably belongs to a guitar made in 1966.
The guitar is Cherry, has the trapezoid fret inlay. It has the regular tailpiece (not Bigsby) and has the smaller-sized pickguard. It has two pickups. It has "Made in the USA" under the serial number on the back of the headstock.
This guitar is not in my possession, but I can get more information, if more is needed. Any assistance is much appreciated, and many thanks for the helpful site!
I am looking at buying a 1991 Gibson Sg Junior. It is a reissue of the junior with the small pick guard and a single p 90 pup. Rather than having the compensated wrap around bridge it has a stop tail piece and a tunamatic bridge. Anyone know how much this guitar is worth?
ReplyDeleteThanks
John
I have a old gibson, serial number is 502421 which according to the gibson serial number chart makes it either a 65 or 68, i dont have much other info but it is in good shape, anyone know anything more about it or how much is it worth?
ReplyDeleteGibson SG Special, with the serial #401263 ... the guitar was made in 1966 .
ReplyDeleteGibson SG Special, with the serial #401263 ...
ReplyDeleteIf the parts are chrome instead of nickel and the pickguard surrounds the pickups .. it was made in 1966 .
1991 Gibson Sg Junior ...
ReplyDeleteWouldn't pay more than $400 , sg junior reissues from 1991 to 1995 were not at all like the originals ... totally different guitar .

Thank you, Mark.
This guitar has the smaller pickguard (it does not surround the pickups.) I am checking on the nickel or chrome.
It also says "Made in the USA" under the serial number. I see that six-digit numbers beginning with a "4" were also used in the 70's...
Would it make more sense if this guitar dated to '74?
Thank you
Please help
ReplyDeleteI am about to purchase a Gibson 70s "The Paul"

ReplyDeletethe serial number indicates that it was made in 1986 , its definitely a reissue ,,, these basses were made only in 1985-86 in small quantities ... they are not listed in any price guide .. you should try calling gibson direct .. if they cant help you , post a picture of the bass online .

ReplyDeleteJust wondering how my guitar is valueing. I have a mid 90's Gibson Les Paul Classic in boulion gold finish (discontinued). I've been looking online and folks are selling them for everything from 1,200-1,400 hundred on the low end to over two grand on the high end. According to the blue book of electric guitars (blue book publishers) the gold top is valueing fast and can get over 900.00 more at resale than other finishes. Is this guitar becoming collectible this early in the game?
ReplyDeleteJust wondering how my guitar is valueing ...
ReplyDeleteyour guitar was made too recently to be valued ...
Gibson Hollow Body ES-330TC.
ReplyDeleteaccording to the price guide its worth $4000 to $5000
Thank you very much for the price range you provided me on the ES-330TC. Which guide are you checking?
ReplyDeleteI should have been more clear. I'm trying to get an idea of whether my guitar is in an upward trend or if there is simply a very wide range of prices for no good reason at all. According to my blue book (blue book of electric guitars)the Gold-top is worth more than MSRP on all currently available finishes. But like I said, prices are all over (I bought mine mint for 1,200 w/ OHSC)so I was wondering what some folks around here might think.
ReplyDeleteHello people,
ReplyDeleteWanted to start by saying, "thank you" for this site and all the effort and information.

Hi there from New Zealand, in the deep South Pacific.
ReplyDeleteI have a Gibson ES335TD, cherry with original case serial number 128516.
I bought while still in school (second hand) in 1969 and still have now and I'm well into my fifties.
It's in good average condition for it's age; the paintwork has some wear from continuous use when I was young, the tuners were changed to Schallers and I fitted a Gibson micro-tune bridge - both in the early eighties.
This greatly improved reliability when playing constantly.
My old axe still sounds fantastic after all these years. Grank up the gain and it gets a unique life all it's own.
Any idea of value or its collectability would be much appreciated
Cheers

Thanks.
Mike
1971 Flying V... I don't know the specs, (not very knowlegable). Had the guitar since the early 80's, and have just stored it the last 20 years.
ReplyDeleteI have a roughly 1990 J-185 - not cut cut out, acoustic that was a performer's (friend) sample for evaluation. It is a beautiful fiddle backed piece, that eventually became the J-185-EC (Blues King Electro with the cutout and electrics). As a pre production model, it has a very basic pickguard (kind of ugly)surface mounted. It is finished beautifully, though there's little bit of crazing in the finish. The back of the headstock is marked Original Gibson Prototype, ober the number 1.
ReplyDeleteAny idea on value for ths type of thing?
Thanks!

Hey,
ReplyDeleteMy dad left us a 1959/1960 Les Paul Special. Here is the problem. We can not determine the age or value of the guitar. We took it to some one who said it was a 1960. Then, someone else said that it was a 1961. The numbers on the back of the tuner have four digits. The specs are as follows: Les Paul Special, electric solid body, double cut away, cherry. Any ideas on the year and worth? Thanks. Lori

ReplyDeleteand original gibson case can you value it for me please?
I posted this message last week...can anyone help?
miki
I have a ES-330TDC. The serial # is 846186 so it could be 1966 or 1969. (I am told) It is more likely a 1966 because the neck meets the body at the 15th fret instead of the 19th. It is in pretty descent shape, all original parts. I thought value was in $3000 - $5000 range, but a shop owner told my dad it is worth about $25,000. What is it really worth??--Tim 7/30/07
ReplyDeleteI have a Gibson SG Les Paul Jr how much do think its worth, some ahv said up to $25,000.

ReplyDeleteWhat can expect to get for a 1955 Gibson LG-1? Cosmetically a 6 out of 10, Acousticaly, Technicaly 8-10. With original case and strap.
ReplyDeletehi my dad has a gibson les paul custom with a serial no. of 001126265 printed on the neck. it has a rub mark on the back from a belt buckle but this is the only damage. i only need a rough ball park figure please
ReplyDeletethanx
I have a 1957 Gibson LG-1 on layaway. It's a beautiful guitar with seemingly only one blemish--there is a crack down the center of the back. Not huge and it doesn't bother me.
ReplyDeleteThe guitar has a great tone and everything else looks original and in good condition.
The seller wants $1100. Is this a reasonable price?
I'm not buying as a collector to resell. I play blues and like the sound, but I want to make sure I'm not getting suckered.
Thanks!
I have a gibson sg s.n. 576381 with made in usa under it has Gibson engraved on the pickup covers front mounted knobs cant find any that look like it.Anyone know what it is and wait its worth?
ReplyDeleteI have a Gibson J160E, serial number 873745 (1967)that I have owned since 1974. It has some checking but is in pretty good shape. All parts are original. Value??
ReplyDeleteHi, I have a few questions, first I have a Gibson guitar of some kind. I know nothing about them, all I know is I think it is old. I am guessing maybe '45 or 50's. The word Gibson is on the very end in gold letters, it has 6 strings, is a darker wood color that fades to light in the center toward the hole. There is what looks to be pearl dots on the brigde? There is some kind of edge "trim" that is very light, nearly white in color and teh only numbers I can find are inside the hole toward the top of the on a block, it is stamped in black, 5948-29, nothing else. I know nothing about it and cannot afford to get it appraised, but if someone honest could help me out at all, I would really appreciate it. I do intend to sell it.
ReplyDeleteI have a mint condition black ES369. Any idea of the value?
ReplyDeleteHey all Bob hear I have a 1971 Gibson SG deluxe cherry red in grate shape what is it worth??
ReplyDeleteHi - I have a believed to be 1971 Custom SG, 3 pickups, all original gold hardware, natural finish, in good shape - a few dings here and there, took a head dive onstage in 1985 and was professionally repaired and still rocks like new. What might be the value of that?
ReplyDeleteAlso have a confirmed 1972 SG 200, red, still all original. Same thing - value?
Thinking about selling both.
I have a Gibson 1952 L-4 guitar serial number A-9454. How much do you think this would be worth?
ReplyDeleteI have a 20th anniversary issue Les paul Special. It looks exactly like the TV Special which is worth a lot of money; Serial #398268 with Made in the USA under the serial #. What is this and what might be the value. Guitar is in excellent condition. No cracks, scratches Nothing. Thank You , Bob K
ReplyDeleteTrying to find the year for a Gibson J-45ADJ. Square shoulders and black teardrop pickguard, sunburst, rosewood bridge, serial number pressed and inked on back of headstock 894091A (the A isn't inked, no "MADE IN USA" on the headstock), Gibson logo on front of headstock with open "b" and "o", dot over the i attached to the G. Can't find a label. Can't home in on a year when all these elements came together. Dunno the value, but this guitar takes "honest wear" to an extreme -- finish totally worn off most of the back, as well as most of the back of the neck, and lower rim of the soundhole. Frets worn down nearly flat. Strings have dug slits in the bridge forward from the pegholes. Soundboard dinged all over. Still solid, though, no cracks, straight neck.
ReplyDeleteRe the Gibson J-45ADJ, I now think it has to be '69, despite the serial number in the '67 range. If my info is right, they made square-shouldered J-45s with black teardrop pickguards from '69 to '74. This model has 3-on-a-rack tuners with "KLUSON DELUXE" in 2 vertical rows, and no "Made in USA" on the headstock -- those elements were changed in '70. Still interested in acceptable value for one that's structurally ok but dinged all to hell and lost half the finish and needs frets. I'm thinking about buying it from a fellow because I need a "beater".
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great information guys. I have been seraching the internet for information about the 1988 Gibson Les Paul Guitar of the Month Series. My cousin is selling me his 1988 Silverburst "Showroom Edition" Les Paul Standard for what he paid in 1988($1500)
ReplyDeleteI have read that these guiatrs were only made in quantities of 200 (250) with a different style produced each month of the run.
It's siverburst with black hardware, and EMG 85 pickups in the bridge and neck. He did have a custom shop swap out the bridge for an SD Full Shred, but assures me the original active pickup can be rewired and I see no damage to the body what so ever. The guy who wired the guitar was very good and was able to get the passive and active pickups to sound good together. I will more than likely keep this config, but I was just wondering if anyone had any more infor on this particular guitar and is it worth 1500 in excellent condition. Thanks!
Curt
Hi there...just picked up a Gibson Lap steel, serial # EGE-6275. Has two tiny cracks at the very bottom, topside. Wondering if I am estimating the year at 1942 correctly? And how concerned should I be with these small cracks, should I let it go? THANKS MUCH!
ReplyDeletehey guys im having some trouble finding out what year my gibson sg is from. i dont believe it to be completly original it looks like it has been customized with Sperzel tuners and a tp6 gibson bridge but the bridge looks old. the serial number is 113499 the closet looking thing i saw was a 1988/89 sg but according to the serial number it shows it would be somewhere around a 70-74 ? can anyone help it has the old school semi pickguard speed knobs. mahogany body and has pearl block inlays.
ReplyDelete-Rob
sorry i misinformed the body is actually walnut not mahogany hope someone can help me out.

My Dad has a J45 with serial number B004893 in very good condition. It has a #2 stamped before the serial number and I believe has the word Deluxe on it. Is this a '74-'75 model and any estimate on value? Thanks for your time.
ReplyDeleteHi, i recently acquired a 1963 Gibson ES-335 TD with a flawless sunburst finish. The guitar is all original, plays beautifully and is in absolutely mint condition. I was wondering how much it is worth and how many were produced in '63. Thank you all in advance
ReplyDeleteRegarding "My Dad has a J45 with serial number B004893...": It sounds like a '74/5. If so, it should have "MADE IN USA" stamped on 2 lines below the serial # on the peghead. Does it have a black teardrop pickguard? Do the tuners have "Gibson Deluxe" stamped on them? No paper label? That model in excellent shape can fetch $1,000-1,500 or so. But if the "#2" indicates a factory second, that may affect value.
ReplyDeleteGreat site guys! I live a long way away in Tasmania! I have inherited, sadly, my muso brothers guitars, one of which is a Gibson Les Paul Standard, serial 81720618 with made in the usa under the number. I have a 1975 Gibson Les Paul Custom
ReplyDeleteelectric guitar with a rosewood top,

relatively good condition. Can anyone
please help me with a ballpark figure of its value for insurance purposes.
Hi,
ReplyDeleteHave a Gibson SG of some sort, Serial # 513723, are you able to provide any background on this and/or possible worth?
Thanks.
i have a gibson EG-7198 acoustic that my grandfather supposedly got during the depression and left to me. what is a ballpark for what it is worth. all original. some cracks in wood on front below the hole, not major though.
ReplyDeleteConsidering sale of my '52 Les Paul Gold Top. The trapeze tailpiece had been replaced, but considering purchase and restoration of original tailpiece or copy of original tailpiece. Head was cracked and re-glued a number of years ago, good repair job, hardly noticeable. Bridge has been moved resulting in some markings on the body surface, in area adjacent to the bridge, but could be restored.
ReplyDeleteQuestion, ballpark value? Should I invest in restoration work? Should I hold or sell, assuming I will definitely sell within 5 years?
someone i know has a gibson white dove, 63 one ever made, and its has no upgrades all origanal bone, paints and all, i was wondering the price range on it could u tell me?
ReplyDeleteI have a 1962 SG Special, sn: 78607, in good condition with original case, p-90 pickups, all original, except the tuners: they were replaced with grovers in mid to late 70's. Not many blemishes, plays and sounds good. Looking to establish an approx value. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteHello everybody, and happy new year!!
ReplyDeleteI have a question - how much is a Gibson U2 model from 1989 worth? It's all orignal, the color is black, it has been played so it has some dings and wear, but nothing too serious (some belt wear on the back side of the body and some dings on the top). I think it's an excellent guitar and a rare one too.
Thanx, D.
I own a 1961 gibson j-45
ReplyDeleteI sprung the top toward the rear of the top side ,plus the binding ribbon needs to be replaced, and I need to refit it again.
What are the recommendations for the type of glue to use?

I just recently purchased a 1948 Gibson all original ES-125. I'm confused as to the age of the guitar as the serial number does not go with the date. I have paperwork, with matching serial and after searching the net, I find that the U, that the serial starts with means it's a 56. However, the guitar is stamped ES-125.
ReplyDeleteI have a chance to purchase a 1962 B-25. It looks like a 3/4 size guitar. The owner said make an offer and I have no idea. I don't want to over pay and don't want to miss out either. Any suggestions?
ReplyDeleteBTW, how to check to see if it is a 3/4 guitar?
Thanks
Willie
I'm back.
ReplyDeleteI just found out this guy also has a 1985 ES-335 he claims is all original and it looks great. What's the range on a guitar like this. I saw one "just like it" at Gruhn's last summer and they wanted $3000.
Thanks again
Willie
I have a 1976 Gibson Les Paul
ReplyDeleteCustom. It's black and it's left
handed. A few parts have been
replaced...the tuners, the pickups
and the bridge. Besides the usual
wear it's in excellent condition.
I've gotten a couple of offers and
I'm not sure if they are lowballing
me. What is your estimate on
what it's worth?
Hi. I have as far as i can tell a 1969-1975 solid body les paul gibson seriel number 301387 "made in usa". I'm intrested in two guitars to buy. 1963 ES330TDC and 1968 ES335TDC 12 string. Both original in excellent cond. I would like to start a collection on a budget. What price should i expect? Any advice?
ReplyDeleteHi
ReplyDeleteI have a 1952 Les Paul Goldtop in fair condition. I've had it authenticated as a '52, no serial number, knobs, toggle switch etc. are all accurate.
It had a crack in the headstock that was repaired a number of years ago, and there's some damage to the finish in a limited area on top. I'm in the process of replacing the changed tail piece with the original trapeze wrap-around.
Anyone care to venture a guess as to value? Tx
Hi John,I have a 1952 Les Paul. I bought the body and neck already spray painted by some idiot and decided to do a 52/57 conversion since it needed to be refinished anyway. All parts I have put on the guitar are from 1957 including the PAF pickups with covers. I won't mention names but I had it refinished by a master luthier that people trust with their 59 bursts. There were two at the shop when I dropped mine off. His finishes naturally check and green like the originals and I am told that some experts couldn't tell that guitars he had done were refinished. It also had the usual small crack at the base of the headstock which was properly reinforced, and you can't tell it is there. It has all of the original binding on it which I am told is rare. I know it won't fetch the prices of an original 57 Goldtop but curious of a current approximate value on this.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
S
Can someone tell me what SECOND stamped above the serial number mean. I have a 74 Custom 20th anniversary. Les Paul. Lefty
ReplyDeleteHi, I have a LP custom with K.M. on the plate at the top of the neck and a "Custom Made" plate below the bridge. Red sunburst circa 78'-79'. Any thoughts on what I've got and what it might be worth?

I have a 1947 mint condition gibson L12 acoustic guitar including original case that I am having issues with pinpointing a value for, since there are really not a lot of them around...does anyone have a feel for this beautiful guitar and todays value..again, it is in A plus condition.....
ReplyDeleteHi, I left an inquiry about my LP custom with the K.M. on the headstock. If anyone has any info or interset in it I can be reached at neco55@comcast.net.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Neil
I have a 1957 Gibson J-45 Acoustic Guitar, Factory Order # U9002-25.
ReplyDeleteThis guitar has a non-adjustable bridge.
My brother bought it in 1960 and it has been in the family since then.
In good condition with a straight neck and has never needed any repairs on the body or neck. There are some superficial scratches on the front above the sound hole and a small ding at edge of the back bottom. Other than that, the finish just reflects the fact that it is over 50 years old.
Everything is original except for the tuners, as the old keys disintegrated.(I have the old tuners somewhere in the house but it would take a bit of a search.) Currently, the tuning key for the third string from the top appears to be stripped, as the key catches but then just continues to turn without pulling the string.
Also, the nut that spaces the strings at the head of the guitar has a small piece broken off where the bass string would sit.
I can send pictures, if anyone is interested.
Any idea what it is worth?
Please contact me at a1a73569@telus.net

I have owned what I believe to be about a 1975 Madeira A-30R since 1991 and have gotten serious about playing it for three years and just love it. I know it is not a Gibson but just wondering if anyone could give me some idea of value. It is mint condition with no cracks or chips and is blond faced with dark sides and back with all original components. I am not sure though if the pickup is original or not.
ReplyDeleteMy dad inherited a guitar just recently, but we have no idea what model it is or how much it's worth, all I can come up with is it's a Gibson and the serial number is 686481. if anyone can help it's greatly appreciated.
ReplyDeletejust wondering the worth of an sg i believe from the early 70's, with the serial number of 673132. it has 2 stereo inputs and and whammy bar, all original parts, with its original hard shell case, everything still in good playing condition. thanks. adam
ReplyDeleteHi.
ReplyDeleteI have a Gibson that I always assumed was an LS 7. It's supposedly from the 70s, Sunburst, Gold trim. It looks like a Les Paul for the most part. I can't find any info on this guitar at all. The serial number is 171713. Thanks!
My older uncle has a flat top Gibson guitar he purchased used right he went to Korea. The Factory order number is Y5023 4 and is in very good condition. For knowledge sake, he would like to know what this guitar is worth.
ReplyDeleteSorry I left the date out. He purchased the guitar circa 1954. Thanks for any response.
ReplyDeleteI need help. I have what appears to be a 1945 Gibson southern jumbo in pretty good shape. It has a FON of 2745 barely visibly on the block. It is a 5 piece neck with two inlays along the back of the neck. What is strange is that it has a 20 fret l-5 fingerboard and grover tuners (not original). It is a banner model but the fingerboard with 8 inlays, starting at the first, and they aren't parallelagrams. That has me confused. It doesn't appear to have been changed as I cannot see any break in the finish on the neck and fingerboard spot. Either way, it plays wonderfully, and need to know what to insure it for. Thanks
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI have a guy offering me his 1970s SG in Cherry. My question is seeing how its been modified with tapped coils and a Bigsby should I ask him to reduce his price?

ReplyDeleteam interested in selling.
Hello
ReplyDeleteI just recently checked my guitar's serial number even if I've already had it for quite some time. Its a gibson les paul with a serial number of 6 2211 stamped at the back of the headstock and with no "made in usa" below it. Is this a vintage guitar?
How do I determine the difference of a reissue and a real vintage les paul based on its serial number?
You really have a great site sir btw. Hope you can help me. thanks!

I bought a 1988 (89?) Silverburst LP Standard Showcase Edition guitar. I can't seem to find much info on this model. From what I have read only 250 were made with 200 available in the US.
ReplyDeleteIt's in mint condition aside from a few pick gaurd scratches.
It came stock with the EMG 81/85 combo. I have read in other places that it was shipped with the 85/85 combo?? (That sounds strange to me)
I bought it for 1500 which is what my cousin paid for it back in 89'.
Not sure what it's worth today.
Any info on this model would be greatly appreciated.
Hello! I have a 1947, give or take a year,Gibson guitar in perfect condition. Nothing has ever been repaired or replaced. It has been sitting in it's case since 1982. I'm sorry i don't have a serial # yet. A friend went to have the strings replaced and they said it was worth a lot of money. Could someone help me out in appraising it?
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm thinking of buying a Pete Townshend #9 LP, mint condition, serial "pete 204"... but I think it's overpriced... it's offered at £3200... does anyone have a view on what's a fair price for this limited edition at the moment?
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Paul
Thanks for the info. My Gibson "Big-Box" D45-12 guitar has a broken trapeze. It's good to know how much insurance to buy for its trip back to the Gibson folks for repair!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update. My Gibson "big-box" 12 string (B45-12N) is on its way back to the Gibson folks for repair (broken trapeze). I got it in 1967, and have not touched it in years.
ReplyDeleteI have a gibson I believe to be a 1953 Y series. It is stamped inside Y7016 20. It's a dark wood color and is not mint condition but is all original. Any idea what it might be worth? Ball Park?

Hi
ReplyDeleteI'm in the process of fixing my Kalamazoo KG2, pictures on my blog @ http://deustempestas.blogspot.com/2008/07/gibson-kalamazoo-kg2-guitar.html
My Step-father gave it to me in the mid-80's, said he bought it new over 15 years before that. The back of the headstock is stamped 793824, but I can't find the number on any list, anyone help me identify my KG2?
I have a Gibson C-O-classio #873417. Made in Kalamazoo Mich. It was purchased in '62 or '63. What would the approximate current value be?

ReplyDeleteI have a Gibson L4, serial/fon high 8400's & in the 11160's I think that makes it between 1910-1920... It is in pretty good condition for being 100 years old. Hope I look as good... No defect that harm the playing, some surface stuff... All original and has the case... just no handle on the case. Any idea on value?
ReplyDelete
