Gibson Les Paul Ace Frehley Signature Guitar

Gibson Les Paul Ace Frehley Signature (1997-2001)

Since 1973 when Ace Frehley joined kiss, his impressive lead guitar solos, riffs and stage persona has influenced many rock guitar players throughout the world. During the 80s when glamour rock was in its peak, rock bands such as Pantera, Skid Row and even Motley Crue named him as an influence.

Ace Frehley during the seventies played on numerous guitars such as Gibson Les Paul deluxe, Custom, and Gibson Les Paul standard guitars.

Fender Stratocaster and Telecatster guitars were also used in his studio work, however his guitar of choice for live was the Gibson Les Paul Custom with the 3 hum buckers.

During the 90s when kiss announced their return to the rock scene with all their original members, in 1997 Gibson introduced the Gibson Ace Frehley Les Paul Signature with Ace's personal design and touches.

The Ace Frehley guitar featured 3 Dimarzio pickups, a fat '59 style neck, maple top, mahogany body/neck, lightning bolt inlays on the fingerboard, Ace Frehley signature at the 12th fret, bound body, neck and headstock with an Ace Frehley graphic logo on peg head, they were fitted with tune-o-matic bridges with stop bars and were made in heritage cherry sunburst finishes. Limited quantities were produced and were discontinued in 2001.

In 2011 to 2013 Gibson made a limited edition called Ace Frehley "Budokan" Custom.. Only 300 guitars were made (50 hand aged and personally signed by Frehley, 100 hand aged unsigned and 150 models with VOS finish).

This guy has been my sole influence and I dedicate my interest in music to him and a few select others. Excellent bending and sustain in that bit in 77! RIP to the father of invention, Les Paul and the Manager to the stars now, Bill Aucoin. With out these two in all of our lives, the transition thruout all of these years would have been very difficult. Ace isn't a god, he is a normal guy with the gift of expression. If there is a god, his makeup and guitar solos would be out of this world! I look forward to jamming with someone like that some day.
Satan! If your listening....fuck you! You tone deaf, bass playing, fire breathing demond! lol
