Gibson Howard Roberts Guitar

Gibson Howard Roberts Custom (1974-1981)

In 1974 the Gibson Howard Roberts guitar was born which was originally an Epiphone model. The guitar had an arched 16" wide full depth maple body with an oval sound hole, one floating hum bucking pickup, rosewood fingerboard (the inlays were the same like the old epiphone guitars) and had chrome plated hardware. Discontinued in 1981. Available in cherry, sunburst or wine red finishes.

Gibson Howard Roberts Artist (1976-1980)

In 1976 the Howard Roberts Custom was joined with the Howard Roberts Artist model, the artist was sort of the deluxe version of the custom. The guitar had an ebony fingerboard, gold plated hardware, abalone inlays, multiple binding and were made in natural, sunburst or wine red finishes. Discontinued in 1980

In 1979 they also introduced the Howard Roberts Artist Double pickup which was the same guitar like the artist but with two pick ups and the bridge pickup was mounted with a mounting ring. Stopped production in 1980.

Gibson Howard Roberts Fusion (1979-2009)

The Howard Roberts Fusion was introduced in 1979, the guitar had a 14 and 7/8" semi hollow body, deep cutaway shape very similar to the Gibson Les Paul solid body models, 2 hum bucking pickups, chrome hardware, tp-6 tailpiece, bound back and top, and ebony fingerboard and were made in ebony, fire burst and sunburst finishes.

The Howard Roberts Fusion was renamed the Howard Roberts fusion II from 1988 to 1990 (same specs), and then was renamed the Howard Roberts Fusion III From 1991 to 2009 (same specs except for gold hardware & finger tailpiece).
